Evenings out in Lomma and Bjärred: garden concerts, a festival by the sea and stand-up

Let's be honest from the start: this is not a place for clubbing. Lomma and Bjärred are seaside towns where most evenings end with a walk on the beach. But in summer, the two towns put on a handful of evenings that people drive in from all over Skåne for — concerts under the trees, a festival with the sea as a backdrop, and long dinners on the harbour's car-free street.

The trick is to plan around them. The big summer concerts sell out, and the best evenings happen on a few specific dates. Below we go through what is on, where, and how to make the most of it.

The area's biggest concert series takes place in the garden of Bjerreds Station, the restaurant in Bjärred's old yellow railway station. Since 2022 it has brought artists such as Titiyo, Lisa Nilsson, Orup, Timbuktu and Eagle-Eye Cherry to a stage among old trees, a short walk from the sea. In 2026 it ran for twelve evenings in a row in late July and early August.

You come while it is still light, eat from the food trucks or the restaurant, and the music starts as the evening light turns golden. In July 2026 Sydsvenskan reported that the station is being sold, so next summer's programme is not yet known. In 2026 Lomma got its own summer festival. Salt & Sound is organised by the Lomma Folkets Hus association at the amphitheatre in Lomma, the open-air stage by the beach, and the first edition ran on 31 July and 1 August with Sabina Ddumba on the Friday and Peg Parnevik on the Saturday. The format is generous: the gates opened at 18:00 for food and drinks, the headliner went on at 21:00, and a DJ kept the evening going afterwards.

On the Saturday, Salt & Sound Kids turned the same area into a family day with Bamse & Lova and Pidde P on stage, bouncy castles and face painting. Whether the festival returns, and with whom, is up to the organiser; at the time of writing no new dates had been announced.

Outside the summer season, Lomma Folkets Hus on Strandvägen is the heart of the town's entertainment. Its programme mixes stand-up, music, theatre and family shows, and comedians sometimes use the intimate stage to try out new material — in October 2026, Petrina Solange tested her show ahead of a national tour. Family shows like Digga med Dan are also part of the programme, sometimes at other venues in the municipality.

The programme changes all the time, so look at the house's own calendar for your dates. It is also the best rainy-evening plan in town.

In high summer, Kajgatan in Lomma harbour becomes a car-free summer street with outdoor seating, sun chairs and flowers — the municipality decides the exact period each year. It is the easiest evening out in Lomma: a table outside, fish or pizza, and the boats a few metres away. The harbour also hosts Lomma Hamnfest at the end of May, and Sweden's National Day is celebrated at the amphitheatre on 6 June.

On an ordinary evening the choice is simpler but no less pleasant. Lomma Krogen on Strandvägen and Bjärreds Krog are the two places for a pub evening with food. For something quieter, walk out on Långa Bryggan in Bjärred at sunset — the pier runs far out into Öresund, and the restaurant at Bjerreds Saltsjöbad at its end is a lovely place for a drink when it is open.

Buy tickets for the big summer concerts early; the most popular evenings sell out. Check the age rules too — in 2026 both the Garden Concerts and Salt & Sound let under-18s in with a guardian. Bjärred has no railway station, so if you are going home by public transport, look up the late buses in Skånetrafiken's journey planner before you go. Cycling along the coast between Lomma and Bjärred is the nicest way on a light summer night.
