Short answer

Falsterbo Horse Show is an international show-jumping and dressage event held every July at the Falsterbo Horse Show Arena, Clemensagervägen, in Falsterbo. In 2026 it ran 4–12 July with CSIO5* jumping and CDIO5* dressage, including both a jumping and a dressage Nations Cup; the organiser has announced 10–18 July 2027. The show grew from the first Swedish show-jumping Derby in 1969, and there have been equestrian events in Falsterbo since 1920.

What it is

For more than a week every July, the quiet seaside town of Falsterbo turns into one of the big stages of international equestrian sport. Falsterbo Horse Show combines show jumping and dressage at the highest level: in 2026 the programme was classed CSIO5* for jumping and CDIO5*, CDI3* and CDI1* for dressage — the five-star classes are the top tier of international competition.

The arena is at Clemensagervägen in Falsterbo, in the middle of a seaside town in high summer, which gives the whole event a holiday feel you rarely find at top-level sport. The show is run by Falsterbo Horse Show AB, which took over the organising in 1986.

The big classes

In show jumping the highlights in 2026 were the Agria Falsterbo Nations Cup at 1.60 m, where national teams ride against each other; the Falsterbo Derby at 1.50 m, the class the whole show grew out of; and the Falsterbo Grand Prix at 1.60 m. In dressage the programme had the FEI Dressage Nations Cup with the Grand Prix, the Grand Prix Special and the Grand Prix Kür, the freestyle to music that is often the most loved dressage class with the audience.

The classifications and class names are set for each year's show, so check the organiser's programme for the edition you plan to see.

A short history

Horses have been competing in Falsterbo since 1920, according to the organiser. The event we know today began with the first Swedish show-jumping Derby in 1969. The first jumping Nations Cup came in 1986 — the same year Falsterbo Horse Show AB took over the organising — and a dressage Nations Cup was added in 2015, so today national teams compete in both disciplines.

More than the arena

You do not need to know a Grand Prix from a Derby to enjoy the week. The official programme also has an exhibition area, a Family Corner, dog activities, mounted games and classes for Icelandic horses. Combine a day at the show with a swim at Falsterbo strandbad, a walk out to Falsterbo fyr, and dinner by the harbour in Skanör — the whole peninsula is in holiday mode in July.

Getting there and tickets

The organiser recommends taking the bus to avoid parking problems: during the show buses run between Malmö Hyllie and Falsterbo Strandbad, and regional line 300 has night departures — check times in Skånetrafiken's journey planner. By car from Lomma, take the E6 south towards Trelleborg, turn off for Skanör–Falsterbo onto road 100 and follow the event signs.

Tickets are sold through the show's own ticket page and Ticketmaster. Prices and sales change each year, so check the official pages — we don't list them here.
