Lomma is the harbour town: fishing huts and sailing boats on Kajgatan, a long white beach running north towards Habo Ljung, and the willow-lined river Höje å winding past the church. In summer the harbour street goes car-free and the whole town seems to move outdoors.

Bjärred is the old bathing resort: villas among pines, the yellow railway station turned restaurant, and Långa Bryggan reaching far out into the sound. It's smaller than Lomma — and, for its size, a genuinely remarkable place to eat.

Gastronomy
A small coastal village with a Thai kitchen locals rave about, a restaurant in a historic station with summer garden concerts, a bath-house dining room at the end of a pier, a stone-oven bakery and a vineyard just inland. We think it's one of Skåne's most rewarding small food destinations.

Migrating birds at Löddeåns mynning (stay on the ramp from 15 April), blossom in Alnarpsparken and Valborg bonfires on 30 April.
Beach days in Lomma, the car-free summer street on Kajgatan, kites over the bay and garden concerts in Bjärred.
Storm-watching walks on Långa Bryggan, golden foliage in Alnarp, long dinners in Bjärred and Heritage Day at the old brickworks.

Getting here
Lomma station is about nine minutes from central Malmö by train, according to the municipality. Bjärred is reached by regional bus; Copenhagen is across the Öresund Bridge.
