Is Lomma a good day trip from Malmö?

A day trip from Malmö to Lomma and Bjärred

Short answer

Yes, in our view it is one of the easiest seaside escapes from Malmö. The Pågatåg train runs to Lomma station, and Lomma kommun puts the journey to central Malmö at around nine minutes. Spend the morning on Lomma beach, have lunch at the harbour on Kajgatan, then continue by bus or bike along the coast to Bjärred for a sunset walk on Långa Bryggan.

Editorial answer: our opinion, based on the sources listed below. No venue has paid to appear.

Morning: the beach

Lomma beach (Lomma norra) lies just north of the harbour entrance, with a boardwalk from Strandpromenaden onto the sand. The water is shallow a long way out.

Lunch: the harbour

Kajgatan is the harbour's dining street, from Fiskboden's seafood counter to Bistro L and Puerto 34, with Lomma Glassfabrik for ice cream.

Afternoon and evening: Bjärred

The coastal path Strandstråket runs along the shore from Spillepeng in the south to Lödde å in the north, passing both towns. In Bjärred, walk out on Långa Bryggan and choose dinner from the food scene around Vikingavägen.
