What is there to do in Lomma and Bjärred in each season?
Lomma and Bjärred through the year: spring, summer, autumn and winter

Short answer
Spring is for migrating birds at Löddeåns mynning and blossom in Alnarpsparken. Summer means beach days, the car-free summer street on Kajgatan, water sports on Lommabukten and garden concerts at Bjerreds Station. Autumn brings storm walks on Långa Bryggan and golden foliage in Alnarp. Winter is the season for sauna and a cold-water dip at the end of the pier, followed by fika. Dates and opening change every year, so always check the linked source before you go.

Spring: birds and blossom
Spring migration makes Löddeåns mynning north of Bjärred one of the best easy birding spots on this coast: a bird tower and a platform over the reeds lie a short walk from the Löddesnäs car park. Bring binoculars and come early in the morning. From 15 April to 15 July the reed beds and river mouth are closed to protect nesting birds; stay on the ramp, where viewing is always allowed (County Administrative Board of Skåne). In May, Alnarpsparken's celebrated tree collection bursts into bloom. Walpurgis Night on 30 April is marked across Sweden with bonfires; check the municipality's website for this year's local celebrations.

Summer: beaches, Kajgatan and garden concerts
Lomma's long sandy beach and Bjärred's shore by Saltsjöbadsparken are the heart of summer. In Lomma harbour the municipality turns Kajgatan into a car-free summer street with outdoor seating, sun chairs and flowers, usually from late June to mid-August; the exact dates are set each year on lomma.se. Lommabukten's shallow, sandy water suits kitesurfing, wingfoil and SUP lessons at Lomma Beach House. In Bjärred, Bjerreds Station holds its Garden Concerts in the station garden; the line-up is published on the venue's own calendar, and we list dates only once confirmed.

Autumn: storm walks, foliage and heritage
When the wind picks up, walk out along Långa Bryggan in Bjärred; bring a jacket, as it is always windier at the end. In October Alnarpsparken's trees turn gold and red. Autumn migration makes another trip to the Löddesnäs bird tower worthwhile. The small brickworks museum in Bjersundsparken, run by the local heritage society, opens on selected days, for example Heritage Day (Kulturarvsdagen) in September; the park itself is open all year. Darker evenings suit a long dinner at the Öresund's edge or out in the Flädie countryside.

Winter: sauna, sea and fika
Winter is the cold-bath season. The bath house at the end of Långa Bryggan combines sauna and sea bathing; it is run separately from the restaurant, so check its own pages for the current season and terms. Afterwards, warm up with fika: Konditori Syrénen in Lomma and Borgeby Stenugnsbageri are classic stops. Empty winter beaches and the Habo Ljung shore are at their quietest for a bracing walk, and Borgeby Castle makes a good half-day pairing with the bakery; check the castle's website for what is open.
